At 3:00 PM on June 22, 2012, the gallery of West Lake, Landscape and Culture in Hangzhou Huanglong Hotel will hold the exhibition of Li Tong's Traditional Chinese paintings on the Lake, which is the 20th exhibition held since the opening of the gallery. More than 30 works are exhibited in this exhibition, which are li Tong's recent creations, sketches and classic works. In the hustle and bustle of today's open age, what one needs is the quiet contemplation of a painting and a dialogue with one's heart. The exhibition will run until July 6, 2012.

Foreword

Li Tong is an excellent young painter with strong individuality. He pursues peaceful painting in artistic thinking, which makes his works often have "Zen" meaning. He freely and persistently wander in his own creative interest, which gives his works great depth of thought. He tried to express a kind of modern consciousness in a very traditional painting. In his concept, the ancient sense and the modern sense seemed to communicate naturally all the time. He seemed to be seldom troubled by the pursuit of harmony in this aspect, which is rare among young contemporary painters. This is related to his research on ancient murals and statues and his preference for western composition, which makes his works very different from traditional paintings, so that no matter how he pursues the traditional charm on the lines, his works will not produce the sense of old. Some similarities between the modeling and modern aesthetics make it easy for Li Tong to distance himself from the tradition. At the same time, he also has his own personality in the application of color. This extremely authentic Chinese pigment makes the strong Oriental flavor and new aesthetic feeling become the attractive characteristics of Li Tong's works.

The series "Qi · On the Lake" is li Tong's poetic expression of his feelings for dwelling in the West Lake. In his paintings, the natural landscape and characters are harmonious, quiet and beautiful, and the spirit is overflowing. As a teacher, I feel that he has been very wise in aesthetic appreciation and modeling, and has also been changing his own ideas, so that he has painted many works that are different from others. He can continue to follow his own path as far as he wants and pursue it persistently, because it is very valuable to form such a personality in art and keep its natural and fresh vitality all the time.
