At 3:00 p.m. on July 4, 2015, "Bird Affair -- Painting Works of Lu Haiyan" will be opened in the Art Gallery of West Lake, Landscape and Culture in Huanglong Hotel, Hangzhou. This is the 42nd exhibition held by Hanyang Art Center in the gallery.

Watching the works of petrel, whether the returning birds or the singing birds, is full of yearning for freedom and quiet and cozy, making people feel free and happy. He advocates creating in the game like a child, and refuses to make rational conception in advance. It is not idea that comes first, but action that comes first. Faced with paper or canvas, he often starts with graffiti, allowing ink and color to grow on the paper and create meaning in the picture. Accomplishment and skill are all lurking in the dark, see show off, there is a natural taste. Painting to him was like a bird flying, effortless, unmarked, so free and unrestrained. In petrel's painting, man is a bird, and bird is also a man. All this is a kind of "manifestation" of Lu Haiyan, which means that he is different from others.

This exhibition will exhibit more than 40 pieces of Lu Haiyan's paintings and sculptures. The extension will last until August 15th.

There is a type of artist, like Lu Haiyan, who appears to be safe and tranquil on the surface, but in his heart never wants to hide in a castle or palace seriously and scrupulously, but practices a Kind of Bohemian life. Not only Does Martin Luther King have a dream, But Also Haiyan has a dream to live and sing like a bird. Nowadays, people in cities are surrounded by man-made nature and heavy smog, so they have little chance to face the mountains, rivers and things created by God directly. Lu Haiyan in the humble reality of the dilemma, incarnated as a bird, living in the mountains and water, hunger is food, thirst is drink, music is song, very free bird man.

Disgusted with the prim catalogue of history, with the power of money to dominate and destroy everything, with the sacrosanct face of authority true and false, with the naive, hypocritical, impassive chatter of chartists and critics, we prefer to say that art is "bird's business."

Birds tend to be more intuitive than humans. The longer history is, the greater the burden is. Experience and education have to some extent overshadowed man's intuition. Man's early sensitivity to nature has gradually diminished. Try looking at callous people from a bird's viewpoint and you might mumble, what the hell are they playing with? So birds, on a whim, shit or spit on people.

Birds never in vain seek or self-righteous definition of "meaning," happy, a few cries. Birds sing very happy, people ask birds, what is the point of living? The bird will say, chirping happily is meaning. If a man asks a bird what art is, the bird will say that there are all kinds of emotions and tones in the song. This is art. As Henri Matisse said, if you understand bird song, you will understand art.

To birds, "ornithology" is equivalent to nonexistence; to real artists, "art" is equivalent to nonexistence. Art, like life, is indefinable; it has no solution. At a time when "meaning" and "ideas" have made the world more bloated and more narrow and inferior, the freer, simpler and more spontaneous presentation of life's energy and beauty, like a bird, is undoubtedly more interesting than reason, logic and skill.

Plants and animals exhibit a great deal of functional redundancy that cannot be explained by the general functions of life. A bird's feathers, for example, are more than just warmth; their various gestures are part of their value. When a bird puts on its feathers, whether too simple or too gorgeous, it at least shows that I am unique and irreplaceable. To humans, although the insides are all the same, the exterior is different. This "self-expression drive" is so extreme that the value of appearance exceeds our estimates. Humans desire to "appear" more than any other plant or animal: to be seen, to be heard, to be felt. In petrel's painting, man is a bird, and bird is also a man. All this is a kind of "manifestation" of Lu Haiyan, which means that he is different from others.

Lu Haiyan's paintings are one of the few things that evoke a deep, independent feeling that has nothing to do with rankings, influence or market prices. To measure beauty, one must use a proper instrument, an instrument built commercially and academically, often full of utility and deceit. The renewal of genres in art history is often nothing more than an uninteresting change of coat and decoration to create trends and fashions. In fact, today's human beings, just as thousands of years ago, have happiness, anger, sorrow, fear, love, hate, hate, can dream, and desire to be free. Today's art, in the final analysis, is still as irrelevant as it was thousands of years ago.
