Lin Chao, professor of China Academy of Fine Arts, will present his landscape painting exhibition "West Lake · Landscape · Culture -- Gallery of Art" in Huanglong Hotel, Hangzhou on December 30, 2011.

The scenery under his pen, clouds and smoke flowing cloth, lush trees, rolling hills meandering, spring house set off; His writing style is sophisticated, varied, real and imaginary, rich in layers, vivid and unrestrained in Ancient Times. Such artistic charm comes from its solid traditional Chinese painting foundation, rich life experience and cultural background. This exhibition is the first solo exhibition of Chinese landscape paintings by Professor Lin Chao in his 30 years of art. A total of 25 masterpieces will be exhibited and will last until January 19, 2012.

Lin Chao had a dream of being a painter since he was a child. However, he once failed to go to the countryside and served as a soldier. However, as wise as he finally caught the opportunity of The Times, he stood out and was admitted to Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now China Academy of Fine Arts) and became one of the first students of the Department of Traditional Chinese painting after the Cultural Revolution. In the memories of his former teachers and friends, he and lu Fusheng, a great painter in Shanghai, were the most fond of reading among those classmates. Besides reading ancient and modern classics, Lin Chao was better able to learn English, broaden his horizon and add rich volumes of leisure to his paintbrushes.

Dong Qichang, a great calligrapher and painter of the Ming Dynasty, advocated "travelling ten thousand miles and reading ten thousand books" to increase the learning of calligraphy and painters. After graduation, Lin Chao not only traveled around the motherland, but also surveyed the mountains and rivers of the five continents; Engaged in art, and dabble in politics and economy; Read both books with words and books without words. Huang Binhong, Zhang Daqian, Fu Baoshi, Li Keran and other masters could not be better. After all, Chinese painting conveys a painter's knowledge and talent.

Thirty years have passed in a flash. Lin Chao, a scholar from the Chinese painting department of the Academy of Fine Arts, has finally dedicated his latest work of landscape painting to his caring fans today.
